And so it begins....Topsoil is being removed this morning as our Elementary School Project has begun!
Attention parents,
Beginning on Monday, May 15, 2023, and continuing through Tuesday, May 23, 2023, many of our students will be taking the Keystone Exams in Algebra, Literature, and Biology.
TESTING SCHEDULE
Keystone Algebra Exam – May 15 and May 17 (students in 8th Grade Algebra, Algebra 1-B, Algebra 1)
*Reminder – There is no school for students on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
Keystone Literature Exam – May 18 – 19 (students in English 10)
Keystone Biology Exam – May 22 – 23 (students in Biology 1)
These exams are required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for all students in public school. The exams measure proficiency in these three academic areas. Students must pass the Keystone Exams in order to graduate. Students who are not proficient on the Keystone Exam will take a semester Keystone course during the 23-24 school year to prepare to take the exam a second time. Students who are not proficient the second time will need to meet their graduation requirement through one of the other pathways to graduation listed under Act 158. The most direct pathway to graduation proficiency is to pass the Keystone Exams.
For the next two weeks I'm asking you to help your son/daughter prepare for these exams by making sure they get plenty of rest, eat a good breakfast, and are present on the day of their exams. The exams will be given during the first three periods, so it is very important for students to arrive on time.
If you have any questions, please contact the high school office.
Thanks, and have a great day!
Mr. Dave Shover, M. Ed
High School Principal
It's "Teacher Appreciation Week" and we have been honoring our teachers & support staff all week long. Today, members of HS Student Council helped Mr. Shover and Mrs. Schmeltz deliver Panera bagels and coffee to all staff members. Also, special thanks to the School Board for providing a Taco Bar for all district employees today during lunch!
