Thank you to everyone who came out for Freshman Orientation and Meet the Teacher Night! Your presence and support mean the world to us. and to your children. I want to extend my gratitude for your understanding as we navigate the complexities of the new schedule and the various changes within our district.
To the students and parents who sat with me as I explained why certain courses just won’t fit into the schedule this year—thank you for your patience and openness. Your willingness to embrace this period of change and enhancement shows the strength of our community.
I am especially grateful for the warm welcome and support you’ve given me as the new principal of our high school. We’ll navigate these changes together, and I promise to keep the lines of communication open as we move forward.
Thank you again for your trust and partnership. Let’s make this year one of growth and success!

Good morning, Millersburg families-
I hope this message finds you well rested and ready for a fantastic school year! I am anxiously awaiting the students’ return on Monday. I cannot wait to make their acquaintance and begin to build relationships with all of you. As I shared with staff this week, I want us all to exude enthusiasm for who we are and what we do in the Millersburg Area School District. A couple of goals on the horizon include raising achievement for every student and improvements to our extra-curricular programming. I’m asking each of you to join with me in promoting these goals and cultivating growth in your children. As you may well know, it takes a village to raise a child and we are poised to do our part. I hope you will make it out to Back to School Nights tonight (grades 5-12) and tomorrow evening (elementary). Also, please mark your calendars for our Millersburg Elementary School Ribbon Cutting/Grand Opening event on Saturday, September 7. We will have games, food trucks, and vendors, in addition to the ceremony and tour of our beautiful new elementary wing.

For tonight's orientation, please park in the high school parking lot and enter through the highschool doors. You will be directed to the auditorum for a brief presentation followed by a tour of the middle school. We are excited to see everyone from 6:00 to 7:00!!

Hello Millersburg Families,
My name is Matt Cowger and I’m the new Elementary Principal and Transportation Director. We recently had a transportation meeting that had 25 people in attendance including three representatives from the Millersburg Borough, Captain Gamez, Schlegel Transportation, parents, teachers, and administrators. Efforts were made to update our transportation procedures while ensuring the safety of students. Attached are the updated transportation procedures for the 2024-2025 school year. As we start the new school year and begin following these new transportation procedures, I am asking for some flexibility. Bus pick and drop off times may fluctuate, and permanent pickups may take longer than normal during the first few weeks. Please allow for a ten minute buffer. I’m apologizing in advance for any hiccups that may occur. I appreciate your support as we navigate these new procedures. For high school students and families, please note that the high school schedule is still being finalized. We appreciate your patience as we make necessary accommodations and adjustments. Ms. Sandusky, who has been on bereavement leave, needs a bit more time to complete this complex process. One small change can affect the entire schedule.
